1944 Luders 24, US $84,990, Portsmouth, RI, USA

BELLE DESCRIPTION

A successful and beautiful Classic Day Racer, BELLE is available after 34 years of devoted care by her current owner and a major refit in 1991-92. The 1991 refit included a cold-molded underbody; six-meter theme mast; new sail plan and deck layout. Ahead of its time for construction, balance, swiftness, and sheer good looks, she exemplifies the phrase “Rare Opportunity.” Only nine Luders boats were ever finished and BELLE is Hull #2.

With a winning record of over 60(!) trophies: BELLE is a genuine CFR Vintage Class. She is race-ready and in excellent cosmetic and structural condition. Constructed in 1944 with a hot molded and vacuum bagged 38’ hull by Allied Aviation, she sports laminated mahogany and was finished at the renowned Luders Marine Construction in Connecticut. She has been lovingly maintained, re-rigged, annually upgraded and stored inside. In addition, she has recent Quantum racing sails and is freshly Awl-gripped in top cosmetic and structural condition.
