1966 Pearson Vanguard, US $11,990, Wareham, MA, USA

DESCRIPTION

This Phil Rhodes design is a true yacht in the finest sense of the word... graceful lines, traditional sheer, engineered fittings, comfortable appointments, and performance to match. The designer kept the draft exceptionally shallow compared to most heavy-ballasted boats, but has increased beam for more roominess and comfort. The high displacement ratio and ample ballast make Vanguard very stable in heavy going, and surprisingly nimble in light air. Between 1963 and 1967, 404 of these sturdy craft were built at Pearson Yachts. SAOIRSE has been well-cared for by her current owner.
